About this publication: Why Subscribe?
Healthcare moves faster than most people can keep up with. A policy decision quietly reshapes reimbursement. An FDA clearance shifts the competitive landscape overnight. A health system announces a new AI contract, and nobody in the room knows what it actually means.
This newsletter is for the people who need to know what it means.
Each post covers one idea: AI diagnostics, radiology, FQHC policy, payer coverage, or the funding moves that tell you where the industry is actually heading. No fluff. No press release rewrites. Just signal, analysis, and honest takes from someone building in the space.
Who writes this
I’m Jonathan Govette, Co-Founder and CEO of Oatmeal Health, an AI lung cancer detection company focused on the communities most likely to get a late diagnosis: rural clinics, federally qualified health centers, and imaging centers that aren’t connected to major academic systems.
Before Oatmeal Health, I was CEO of ReferralMD and spent time inside the Cancer X initiative. I’m a Techstars alum. My co-founders are a Harvard-trained physician scientist from Mount Sinai and a PhD chemist who previously ran two AI companies. Our clinical team is made up of practicing interventional pulmonologists.
I’m not a journalist covering healthcare from the outside. I’m in it: running pilots, navigating FDA clearances, structuring partnerships with imaging networks, and tracking every CMS coverage decision that touches lung cancer screening.
That’s the vantage point this newsletter comes from.
Who this is for
FQHC executives, radiology directors, imaging center operators, health system administrators, and healthcare investors. One clear idea per post. No fluff, no sales pitch, just the signal.
